This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These specific items will make a great impact on student learning. The items like the Magnetic Whiteboard divider, will provide additional support for a seamless transition from one group to the next. Pulling groups every 40 minutes seems like enough time to get ALOT done, but realistically, there is never enough time when working with a small group! There is always "one more thing we can do" to make the lesson even more impactful! This project will help limit time needed for transitioning from group to the next because every group will have a space for their materials for their block. In my room room, there are usually three groups being taught a concept tailored to their goal. Having room dividers will give each group their private space to run their group. With the dividers students are less likely to be distracted with what the other group is doing. In order to ensure each group’s materials are separate and prepared, cubbies and book bins would provide that organization to achieve this! The cubby and book bins are essential to creating an environment where I can keep materials needed for each group organized and separate to optimize time spent learning. My students are unbelievably special! They come to intervention during their block ready to work and become the best reader and/or mathematician they can be! My goal is always to make their time spent in intervention impactful! The less time spent on gathering and preparing for the next group means more time allotted for meaningful learning!
