Most students of mine are struggling to focus on one thing at a time and can become easily over stimulated. Our goal with this project is to provide resources for students to continue through their day with minimal interruptions. Our students need the ability to feel safe and supported in order to maximize learning opportunities.
We're looking to give them opportunities to self-advocate for their own individual needs.
Students will be able to choose a resource and use their resource while they continue to work. We'd like to have a wide array of sensory and sensory like tools for students to choose from in order to provide them with adequate, individualized options.
Students will also have the ability to take a break in a safe space set up in the classroom. We will create this space by using some of the materials to section off a space in the room that appears private through the use of shelving and canopies and has some of the sensory objects listed to access.
