Help me give my students cubby shelves and book bins to help us organize!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Power's classroom raised $288

My Students
The students in our school all come from various backgrounds and have different abilities. All of the students in my class are considered delayed, including cognitively, developmentally, physically, and socially. I have students who do not hear English at home, students who are non-verbal, and students who speak very well. I have students who can write sentences and students who are working on pre-writing skills. All of my students need additional help with academics, social skills, and life skills.
To keep my students excited and wanting to come to school, we do many hands-on activities and crafts associated with our curriculum.
We also teach cooking activities, and life skills such as loading and unloading a dishwasher, sweeping, wiping tables, sorting, washing, and folding.
About 83% of the students at our school receive free or reduced-price meals. We also have a large portion of English Language Learners (18%). We have a very transient population in our school serving the homeless, students living in motels or extended stays, and many apartment complexes.
My Project
My classroom library is in a constant state of total disarray! My students all enjoy reading the books, but do not enjoy so much the process of putting them away when they are finished reading them. They struggle with getting the books back in the proper places because we only have one big book case for the books. The cubby shelf in this project would help us be able to group our books by level/type/theme/etc. The book bins will be used to keep the groups together, neatly organized, and easily accessible for all of my students. The cubby bench will be used to organize a multi-functional charging station for their Chromebooks, chargers, headphones, and other technology accessories. Having additional storage in my classroom will greatly improved the organization and accessibility of my classroom! Thank you for considering making a donation to this project to organize my classroom!
