This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are intellectually gifted students living in the heart of the Delta. Our district serves around 340 students enrolled in the gifted program for the 2017-2018 school year, 50 of whom are my students. They are my pride and joy, and I look forward to teaching them as much as I can in the short years we have together.
The INSPIRE gifted program offers students an out-of-the-box approach to learning.
The program is a unit-based program that is self-driven by the interests of the students. Over the past few years, we shifted gears, changed the name of our program, became more robotics-driven, and really focusing on social and emotional skills from multiple angles.
This year, 2021-2022, I will continue to be technology-driven and even more focused on promoting social skills, tolerance, success skills, thinking skills, and improving metacognition in each student.
I would like to continue to grow as a positive and challenging program for our students. With the help of donors like you, I know we will continue to reach new heights!
My Project
The class and I are asking for headphones (with a mic) and wireless mice. We will use the headphones in class for video instruction, and also when using Google Classroom live sessions. We work with coding and Google Slides a lot, so having a mouse will help the students be able to maneuver things more efficiently.
Having these tools will aid the students in a better, more efficient, learning experience.
The Chromebooks are amazing. It's just time to add a mouse to the trackpad, so they can do things easier!
