This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working in an inner city school for many years, I have experienced many different class dynamics. Reflecting on this past year, I can honestly say the children were excited to learn and treated each other as family. From my observations this incoming class will keep me on my toes, so I need to be prepared.
Building relationships, and connecting students to the world around them will keep them engaged, and allow me to do what I do best, teach.
Scholastic News will be placed in our literacy center. Students will be able to read, discuss, debate, write and public speak on each monthly news article. Scholastic News will not only teach them about the world but help them build tools they will use to succeed in the world.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
