This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I public charter school that primarily serves a lower socioeconomic population with a lot of English Language Learners. There are many more difficulties a majority of our students experience on a day-to-day basis than in some other schools.

Our school's mission is to create students who will be college and career ready with cross-cultural competence when they leave here.

For many students, they will be the first generation in their family to go to college.

My Project

I am a high school health teacher. As we talk about the dangers of underage drinking, these glasses that simulate what alcohol can do to your body will be very educational to my students.

As our students approach the age of driving and peer pressure, these glasses can help them make good health decisions.

By using other activities, such as Mario Kart and car simulators, students will be able to associate real risks with drinking alcohol and be better prepared to make smart decisions when facing real life choices. Please consider supporting this cause.
