My students need an ELMO document camera so they can have easy access to visual modeling and instruction, demonstrate their own learning strategies, and present their work for research and inquiry projects.

My Students
My students love to learn and explore new information. Every day I see new examples of their passion for learning as they strive to do their best.
These fifth graders are smart, funny, and endlessly curious.
They are a part of a wonderful K-12 public charter school in Utah with a focus on engaged, research-based learning. We are an excellent Title I school with over 40 percent of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches. As a school, we excel annually, testing as one of the top schools in the state on standardized tests. We do more with less, and we are proud of it. My students are eager to learn, and it shows!
My Project
A document camera will allow my students to see more visual examples about what we are learning. Most students greatly benefit from being able to see, not just hear, when they are learning.
Students will be more engaged during lessons when they have a visual on which to focus their attention.
Not only does this support their learning, it also supports having structure in the classroom.
The document camera would be used to show individual pictures, books, manipulatives, and worksheets to the entire class. It will also provide a way for students to be able to share their learning strategies with their classmates.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
