Open the Curtain! Open the Curtain! Can Anybody Hear Me?
My students need headsets to be able to communicate with each other backstage.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Lazarus's classroom raised $858
This project is fully funded
My Students
My theater students are a very special group of children. They are the epitome of a melting pot. There are children from five out of the seven continents. Each child brings something special from their culture.
My class offers any child, regardless of experience, a chance to shine on stage.
Every student plays a special role in the performance. The show is a memory that will forever be remembered by the children. They are working really hard on the show. They learn the importance of being a part of a group.
My Project
The headsets will be used for our spring performance of "Alice in Wonderland." Afterwards, they will be used for every other show. Our school puts on at least 5 shows a year with two performances each. That is at least 10 shows!!!
The biggest challenge when putting on an elementary school production is having to give constant directions to the young stage crew while directing, playing audio, set changing, opening the curtain, closing the curtain, working the light board, changing microphones, reminding lines to kids and every other performance task that normally has at least 4 people!
This project will allow me to communicate directly to my stage crew. Instead of a 10 year remembering when to blackout the lights, they will be able to hear me to them the exact moment. This project will make the performances much more smoothly.
