This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students can be described as intelligent, courageous, charismatic and innovative! Although, only in sixth grade they are discovering who they are and who they want to be. Regardless of their obstacles, it does not get in the way of thriving and using any form of resource to achieve it.
My Project
When students walk into a classroom, it should immediately become their safe haven and their "second home." The materials chosen are furniture that can help elevate these 6th graders into scholars thus making them feel empowered to do their best.
The students in this room will feel like future world changers!
Although, it may seem like a chair or just a desk, to them it can help build their confidence into thinking they can be somebody in life. Having flexible seating allows for them to get a taste of real-world scenarios and working hard at the task at hand. Students should feel comfortable in their workspace while collaborating with peers.
The real magic begins in the classroom, and these materials can help build that and more.
