it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my five ESOL-friendly classrooms, technology plays a vital role in their language journey. We rely on powerful learning programs like Imagine Language and Lexia to provide personalized instruction and practice, and students use these programs while I am teaching my small groups. It's very loud when they don't have headphones, and we all end up having trouble focusing. These tools are fantastic, but to truly unlock their potential, each student needs a dedicated pair of headphones.
This project aims to provide each of my ESOL students with their own pair of durable headphones.
This will ensure every child has equal access to the high-quality digital learning resources we use daily.
I'm an ESOL teacher in a low-income school community where families are dedicated to their children's education. However, providing essential school supplies like headphones can be a significant challenge due to limited financial resources. Beyond the cost, many parents face practical hurdles such as lacking reliable transportation, making trips to shop for these items difficult to manage. These obstacles are often magnified for the families of my students, as many parents are courageously building new lives after arriving from war-torn countries like Ukraine and Syria and do not yet speak English. This language barrier can make navigating new systems and securing the specific tools their children need for school an incredibly daunting task.
