I teach 21 Fourth grade students in a Title I school on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. We are located in between the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. Our school is a small preschool to 5 school with about 500 students.
My students love to explore far off places and times.
Many of them come from homes where education and reading are not a priority. Many of their parents do not speak English. The adventures that the students take by reading books are the only adventures some of them will ever take.
We are requesting books for a new classroom library that is on my students' grade levels. This classroom library will help my students develop a love for reading. They need books on their grade levels to use for independent reading time and for using on Accelerated Reader test. These books will help them travel to far off places, make new friends, and explore new worlds. The book case will help to keep the library organized for the students.
With this new classroom library, my students will be able to select their own adventures.
They will be able to select books on their own reading levels to use for Accelerated Reader test, or just for fun, independent reading.
