Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are trying their very best to attend our Zoom sessions every day where we focus on literacy and Math.
They are living in stressful times, where at home the parents are equally stressed trying to provide them with academic support in these essential academic areas.
My Project
I miss reading and exploring books with my students. Right now my students do not have books at home and instead have to rely on online reading materials.
There is nothing like having your own books that you can read and enjoy day after day.
I want to continue to give my students the joy of reading, thinking, and exploring the places books can take you too. My students especially love reading about the natural world, technology, and animals. Right now we're learning about PENGUINS.
My students love sharing favorite parts, favorite characters, or something new they've learned from a book during our zoom meetings. We call that "Book Talk".
With your help, I can help my students create their own library at home. There they can continue enjoying making those personal connections with books during our online book talks.
