My third grade students need a class set and teachers guide to the wonderful timeless tale "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".

I teach a wonderful third grade class in Florida. In my class I have an evenly mixed population of students. A large portion of my class includes students that need additional academic support and materials. Our school and our students are wonderful, but we are a public school facing the series of budget crunches (like many schools) and depend on supporters to help our children.

I chose this particular book ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") mainly because of the love my students expressed for other Roald Dahl books read aloud in class. I only have an older copy, so the additional supplies are greatly needed. Every student knows what Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is, but few know that it was a book long before it ever became a movie. My goal is to teach students that behind most great movies they have seen, is a great book.

In this project, I will simply need a class set of 24 of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so all my students can enjoy reading it independently. I also requested a teacher manual with great projects and ideas to support the reading.

By choosing to support this project, your will be supporting the excitement and imagination of one of the most beloved childrens stories ever written. I strongly feel that no child should ever grow up with out reading such a timeless story.
