My Students
We are an inquisitive, enthusiastic group of second graders who are eager to learn.
At our site, the teachers work hard to motivate students to be critical thinkers, organized learners, and to be aware of global issues.
Students are encouraged to take action to make a positive change in our community and in the world.
We are International Baccalaureate world school, and we also have been recognized as a distinguished school; we offer after school enrichment; and our most recent accomplishment was being recognized as a California Gold Ribbon School and Title I Gold Ribbon School.
My Project
I am constantly looking for new books to bring to our classroom. Good literature enhances the six IB units that we study each year: government, pollinators, natural resources, family traditions, stories from various cultures, and everyday heroes. While we read, students become so much more interested in each topic due to the words and pictures the books bring to our room.
Being able to bring new materials into my second grade classroom is a gift for not only my current students, but also many future groups of children.
Bringing new book titles, and some creative seating would be wonderful additions to our learning environment.
