Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard- working and loving kids. We have entered this distance learning journey with ambiguity. I never imagined schools being closed to the end of the school year. My kids and I were not able to say our last goodbyes. Everything happened so quick. However, learning must continue.

We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online arenas and learning new things.

My students and I try share at least three times a week in Google meetings to go over new material, and to check in with each other and parents. Moreover, I am recording lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I am moved by their level of engagement and participation, and families doing their best to be supportive.

My Project

My amazing learners have been working so hard completing the assignments I have assigned through Seesaw classroom, YouTube, and IXL math. Nonetheless, my students would tremendously benefit from me having a Chromebook with good sound and most importantly video capabilities to record video messages, reading passages, and lessons for them.

This project will give me a piece of technology so that I can utilize its incredible tools to help support my students with their remote learning experiences.

When we return to school, this awesome piece of technology will serve all my students especially my ELL learners for read aloud and translations. In addition, I have a secured locked closet where I will keep our Chromebook safely in our classroom.
