Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a "techie" and my goal is to make my students technology masterminds! Coming into a tech classroom in a low income school means most of the students do not have the technology at home, but are enthusiastic to learn about it in class.
I teach all subjects to a group of energetic and enthusiastic fourth grade students.
We are a Title I school, meaning most of our students are low income and their first language is a language other than English, usually Spanish. I teach an inclusion class which means my students have varied special needs. I also teach ESL students (English as a Second Language). Many students will learn English in my class. Also, many of my students come in below grade level, and it is my goal to bridge the gap.
My Project
Teachers Pay Teachers houses thousands of online resources for teachers of various subjects. This year, I am teaching a self-contained class. This means I will be teaching all subjects to my fourth grade students. We will be starting the year virtual, and who knows where the road will lead us right now!
Teachers Pay Teachers allows me to purchase custom resources to fit the specific needs of each of my students.
TPT includes resources for different subject areas, which is very valuable to me as a self-contained special education inclusion teacher starting the year virtually.
Learning from a distance can be difficult, I want to make this experience fun and allow my students to be creative. The gift cards are a game changer when it comes to enhancing students' learning, who are already coming in below grade level.
