Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 4th graders are curious and excited to learn, but many of them are from low-income homes and/or are English Language Learners. Our school is a Title I school and I try to give them opportunities to work with technology they wouldn't normally have access to.

When they are offered the opportunity to stretch their brains, they simply light up.

They are more engaged when they are offered opportunities to experiment and engage in their learning as well as have opportunities to use what they have learned in an authentic real-world setting.

My Project

This speaker system will help my students in many was. First, I lose my voice several times a year, and having something to amplify my voice would be very helpful. Next, my students often do not speak loudly enough to be heard, and I believe they would enjoy speaking with a microphone. Lastly, the head set could be used for when I lose my voice and when we have online learning session or when I make videos for learning purposes.

These items would be useful in both a face-to-face learning environment as well as our current online learning situation; I would be able to read to students, develop online lessons, and have Meetups online with my class.
