Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are so excited about learning. They are so energetic and curious just about everything. Every day is like an adventure in our classroom. I teach at a Title I school where the students receive 100% free breakfast and lunch. Most are in single-family homes and live in high poverty areas.

I have students who learn best when they are actively involved as they play, explore, experiment, discover, and create.

I actively engage my students thinking process and encourage them to use their questioning, investigating and problem solving skills to help them learn.

My Project

My students will learn to have great oral health habits as well as learn to brush their teeth with the help of AL-E-Gator the puppet! His huge mouth can be used to help students learn basic tooth, lip structure and oral anatomy.

My students will have fun using the pretend dental toys and kits to play "Dentist".

They will learn all about the tools a dentist uses to help keep their teeth healthy and give them a better understanding of the importance of dental health!!!

The books "Sugarbug Doug" will be used to help my students learn about what causes cavities and plaque and "Melvin the Magnificent Molar" will encourage my students to want to brush their teeth in a unique, fun and loving way. To end our project, I would love to hand out dental treats to my students and any visitors who come on project day!
