My Students
My students are eager-to-learn 4th graders. Our location in sunny Southern California is ideal for learning outdoors as well as indoors. I teach at an amazing school with great parent involvement and participation. I have taught at this wonderful school for 10 of my 31 years.
Currently, in fourth grade, we have a 1 to 2 Chromebook to student ratio.
With this project, my classroom would have a 1 to 1 student to Chromebook ratio, making daily access possible.
My Project
Our new language arts program is all online. My students need more access to ensure success! In my 21st century classroom, technology is utilized daily. We have the furniture to inspire collaboration and creative thinking. Now, I'd like to add the technology piece. Our reading and math programs offer digital components that we can't utilize without access to devices. I'm so excited to provide my students with a new way of learning and accessing information. Currently, 20 children use Chromebooks and the rest use iPads. Our new language arts program doesn't work well with iPads. With an additional 5 Chromebooks, students would have daily access to differentiated learning in all curriculum areas.
