My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and enthusiastic. They come to school each day eager to learn and take on the many challenges that enable them to grow both academically and personally.
They actively engage in a variety of hands on learning activities requiring them to think outside of the box and to step out of their comfort zone on a daily basis.
My students' flexible minds allow them to think creatively however, they struggle with being able to concentrate in traditional classroom seating arrangements. Often times their attention requires them to sit on the floor or sit in a more "movable" seating option in order to be successful in the classroom.
My Project
My students need flexible seating options to enhance and optimize student engagement! Just like us, they get tired of sitting in the same chair all day and need to switch up their seating options. When students have comfortable seating arrangements, they are able to focus more on the content being taught, rather than how much they would rather be sitting on a bouncy ball or in a movable stool!
Some of the seating options that will be provided to my students include bouncy ball roller chairs and wobble stools.
These options will allow my students to sit comfortably and move about the classroom, all while engaging in their learning, whether they are at their desks, at the teacher table or in the library. These flexible seating options will set them up for success!
This project will greatly increase the engagement and success of my students on a daily basis. They will be able to feel comfortable, focused and eager to take on whatever challenges are presented their way. Flexible seating will enhance our classroom community and make our classroom feel like a home away from home!
