Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students learn in a variety of ways. Hands-on games and activities give them a fun and interactive way to practice math standards.
In my classroom, we talk, laugh, discuss, learn, and share every day.
I want every student to feel like they are an important part of our community. We build each other up by helping and complimenting the positive attributes of those around us. The students in my classroom are fun, energetic seven and eight-year-old children who are excited about learning and find joy in discovering new things about the world around them. They are so eager to ask questions and think about new information and experiences.
I work at a K-5, Title I school, with students who are in various programs such STARS (Skills Training and Autism Related Services), Gifted and Talented, and who also receive math and reading services. We are also a school with a K-5 Dual Language program where students learn in both Spanish and English. Many of our students attend our school for these programs and have another home school.
My Project
The use of construction paper is almost a daily occurrence in my classroom, especially in reading and writing. The large white construction paper will be used to make One Pagers about various topics including communities, friendships, goods and services, and more! The organization tray will help to keep various colors and sizes organized so students can easily access the materials whenever they need them.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to give students the resources they need to complete classroom activities, but also to keep those resources neat and readily available.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic content at hand, and not whether they have the correct materials or not. Plus, with these resources, students can use their creativity to show what they know!
