This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Coming from more than 20 countries, and speaking over a dozen languages, my students are a daily reminder how big and small the world really is. Through their varied educations, upbringings, and personal stories, they come together to learn English and science with me.

To graduate, my students must develop portfolios that showcase the best of the work they have done and skills they've acquired.

All of this is prepared on a computer. Before that though, they need to become proficient at most of the skills we take for granted on computers: email, research, spreadsheets, and posting a photo.

My Project

We need your help because heavily-used laptops don't last forever, and many have reached the end of their usability. Now, when everyone is present, some students have to wait for others to finish before they can even start.

We learned in kindergarten that sharing is a virtue, but when it comes to computers, sharing doesn't always make sense.

Taking turns means some students aren't able to utilize their class time as efficiently as possible. These Chromebooks will be our go-to computers for everything from portfolio writing, sharing and editing work, recording experimental data, internet research, writing resumes, and even computer programming in Scratch.

We need computers nearly every day - they are an indispensable tool. Please help my students get the technology they need to succeed.
