One Happy and Comfy Classroom

Help me give my students classroom rugs to work together on. My students have high sensory needs and like to sit on the floor. These classroom carpets will be learning spaces that are comfortable and cozy.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work sitting or laying on the floor. Having a classroom rug would allow my students with the flexibility to learn in a comfortable designated space in the classroom.

The classroom rugs will serve as learning spaces for the whole classroom where we can together hold read- alouds and share-outs

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice for where they can work.

A classroom rug will also serve as a space in our classroom to come together for morning circle, share- outs, and read a-loud.
