One Easel to Teach, Fulfills Students to Reach!

Help me give my students the opportunity to show their learning during lessons with the use of a teaching easel.

My Students

I am a kindergarten general education inclusion teacher. I am proud to educate students with and without disabilities and early language learners. I teach at a public Title I school in Washington, DC in which 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Due to the pandemic, students were forced to learn virtually this year and did not complete school in-person the year prior.

As a result, many students failed to meet benchmark standards in reading. I'm excited that my incoming kindergarteners will be in-person this upcoming school year and as their teacher, I'm proactively seeking support in creating a welcoming and flexible environment that is inclusive of all students both academically and socially and emotionally.

My Project

It is proven through research and experience that engaging students in the learning process will increase student attention, promote the use of critical thinking skills, and increase learning opportunities through interactive speaking and writing.

A teaching easel for my classroom will help me teach and model best practices for my students in all content areas.

Not only will I be able to teach and model during whole group instruction, but students will also be able to actively engage by sharing their ideas as well as engage in the writing process as the reverse side of the board offers lines for writing.
