Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a large public high school located in central California. The school population consists of a diverse group of 2,900 students in grades 9th-12th. Our students participate in numerous educational classes which include the sciences, vocational pathways, sports, music, drama, as well as various campus clubs.
One Drop of Life will lead to a greater understanding of living organisms that exist within the environment of a pond, a garden area and in the classroom.
Students will observe the wonderful components found in microscopic organisms found in pond water through the use of microscopes. Observing these visual organisms should encourage various discussions about how single-celled living things might satisfy their needs for food, water, and air.
My Project
In order to learn about the living environment, students must be able to observe their environment and communicate their findings with words and drawings. The use of the Embedment Invertebrate 27 Piece Set along with the Insect Diversity Riker Mount 12 x 16, will provide visual and hands-on connections for student use in the class as well as in our school environment.
One Drop of Life can change the world in my Biology classes with Insects, Aropods, and Microscopic organisms!
Students will observe and sketch insects, aropods, as well as life within one drop of water through microscopic slides. In addition, students will determine how single-celled living things might satisfy their need for food, water, and air.
