Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my students' native language is Spanish. This has a huge impact on their reading performance. My students are eager to learn, but they sometimes face challenges and get discouraged because of their reading ability, and language background.
I teach my students to have a growth mindset and to always believe in themselves.
They are hard workers, and are very enthusiastic about learning new things. My students love to work collaboratively, and have discussions based on the topic at hand. Not only do they learn from me, but they are always learning from each other!
I'm excited to see how I can push my students to grow this school year.
My Project
My students need one laptop computer in my classroom to help them improve in reading and math. The students at my school may not have the technology resources at home to access computer programs that will help them improve in their core subjects.
Adding an additional computer to my classroom, will give all my students the opportunity get on district required computer programs daily.
My students love to use the computer for their learning programs, and so far these programs have helped them improve already! We just need one more computer so my small group learning centers give all students within the group the opportunity to get their required time on the computer based on their learning level.
