Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

They are smart, fearless, hardworking, creative and a true inspiration. 80-90 percent of the students are from low-income families, therefore,​ they rely on us to provide them with the foundation skills needed to become working citizens. My students come to school each day with a mindset built to know "it will only get better if I make it better". They strive to stay engaged learners in the 21st century of technology. My students bring in personalities that are brave enough to one day lead the world.

I love that my students drive to succeed is generated by the challenges that some of them live daily.

My Project

The Sphero will open up opportunities for students to seek continued learning and increase their knowledge on science. It builds the students engagement, creativity and critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills are embedded in all subject areas therefore the Sphero can be used to enhance other subject components. The Sphero will introduce students to engineering which better prepares them for their career. In addition, students will learn character building skills such as team work, collaboration, planning and preparation. These skills are necessary for students to operate successfully in a job or career. My students will love learning with the Sphero in our classroom.
