My students need Chromebooks for online reading sources, beanbag chairs for comfortable seating, and an area rug to create a classroom library that is inspiring.
My students are smart, kind and inspiring; they exceed my expectations daily and never cease to amaze me. My students are usually underestimated because of the stereotypes that come from the area where we live, but they always excel, whether it be in academics or athletics. Our community has hit some hardships over the years and overcome difficult diversity living situations.
My students have received district, regional, state and national recognition for academic activities such as National History Day, academic teams, Math Counts, Governor's Cup, and more.
My Project
As an English Language Arts teacher, I am always trying to find new way to inspire my students to read and to write. We need Chromebooks, beanbag chairs, and an area rug for a classroom library area. By creating this space, I want my students to find the desire to read and explore their imagination. I want a classroom library space that is inspiring and comfortable for my students to drift off in the pages of a good book.
Every child can love to read; we just have to make reading more fun and interesting.
My main goal with this project is to leave a lasting impression in my students' lives that makes them want to continue reading even after they leave my classroom.
