Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These books will make a huge difference in their learning.

Academic Success: Fluent readers are more likely to excel academically across subjects

Increased Vocabulary: Fluent readers encounter more words in context, which helps to expand their vocabulary faster than struggling readers.

Enhanced Critical Thinking: Reading fluency allows children to engage more deeply with texts, prompting critical thinking skills such as inference, analysis, and evaluation.

Confidence Boost: Success in reading builds confidence and self-esteem, encouraging children to tackle more challenging texts and tasks.

Independence: Fluent readers can independently explore books and other reading materials, fostering a love for reading and lifelong learning.

Expanded Knowledge Base: Reading fluently exposes children to a wide range of topics and ideas, broadening their understanding of the world.

My goal for this project is to provide my students with lots of their favorite books that will greatly engage them in reading and make them successful in school and in life.

My students are very special because they come from a minority community and many do not have access to reading resources. They love coming to school, are highly interested in reading and truly want to learn. They are respectful, kind, and I love them so much!!
