FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Woo's classroom raised $600

My Students
We are in the heart of Chinatown where the bulk of the students receive free or reduced lunch. My students are full of energy who strive to learn something new everyday. They enjoy different activities from playing sports to chess to singing in our school's glee club.
Many of them live in single room apartments or even share with extended family members.
Also, a good number of them come from families who do not speak English and are relied upon for translations. They have big shoes to fill, but they also need to get the education themselves first.
My students yearn to increase their academic levels and demonstrate their ability every chance they have. They want to expand their knowledge and prove that "Yes, I made it happen!".
My Project
With the use of these resources, my students will be able to explore the use of new and exciting vocabulary words. My students are learning all about root words and and word patterns. My students need to be able to look up the definition as well as find synonyms to words.
The majority of my students are learning English as a second language, so these tools are fundamental to their learning.
The use of these resources will enable students to freely locate words and find the synonyms without using the same words. Also, they will be able to discover new words to use in elaborate writing that will soon to be developed.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
