Once Upon a STEAM: Enchanted Kits for Young Innovators

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With these materials I aim to inspire creativity and critical thinking in young learners through a unique blend of fairy tale-inspired themes and hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities. These kits will provide students with the tools and materials needed to engage in imaginative problem-solving, while learning foundational concepts in science and engineering.
By integrating storytelling with interactive projects, the initiative seeks to foster a love for learning, encourage innovation, and enhance the development of essential 21st-century skills.
My classroom is made up of a diverse group of young learners that includes students who are economically disadvantaged, learning English as their second language, and students that are in the special education program. My students are 4 years old and require and learn best with hands on engaging materials that integrate concepts in a cross curricular manner. Targeting underrepresented communities, this project will ensure that all children have access to high-quality, engaging STEAM education, setting the stage for future academic and professional success.
