As many already know, 5th graders are the best! 5th graders are goofy, sensitive, chatty, intelligent, kind, wonderful, and they are hard workers. I am with my 5th graders all day for reading, math, social studies, and writing. As of now, we have a classroom of 24 diverse learners.
Almost half of our students returned to the building in September for the first time since March 2020.
Coming back to in-person learning can both be exciting and nerve-wracking for students. Whether virtual or in-person, our students have been working extremely hard.
Our city is the poorest large city in the United States. Though we have many beautiful prestigious universities, where one out of every six doctors in the United States has received their medical degree, we also have neighborhoods that are in food deserts and filled with poverty and violence.
My students come each and every day ready to learn. They are joyful, respectful, and eager to learn. They deserve only the best, and DonorsChoose has been instrumental in making sure they get the best.
My Project
In my class we are constantly giving out small prizes and rewards. One of the most popular prizes is slime or putty.
This project includes different types of slimes and putties which will all be used as prizes for students to earn.
Students earn prizes in our class for completing the optional morning work, for completing homework, for being our I-Ready weekly leaderboard, and for good behavior.
Because our class is so amazing, we are consistently going though prizes at a quick rate. This project would help us have more motivating prizes for our awesome students.
