My Students

Our seventh and eighth-grade students live in a very small, rural town in north-central Texas. They are sweet, respectful kids and are very motivated to know more about the world around them.

Our students are eager to learn, and all of them love experiential learning just like most kids do!

However, most of our students come from low-income homes and just simply cannot afford to travel to experience the wonderful sites our country has to offer. We want to provide them with an opportunity to explore the most exciting cities where this country's forefathers fought, died, and persevered to establish one of the greatest nations in the world.

By traveling to Boston, New York, Philadephia, and Washington, D.C., these small-town, impressionable young people will become inspired to pursue education and become the citizens this country needs to keep the United States strong.

My Project

This project is a field trip to the cities where our country was envisioned and established by our forefathers. As the students visit the birthplaces of the United States, what they see, hear, and do will instill in our low-income students the richness of our history while motivating them to pursue education as a means to improve their lives and serve their country as patriotic citizens.

Most of our students may never have the opportunity to visit and explore cities like Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Colonial Williamsburg, or the Jamestown Settlement if it were not for this once-in-a-lifetime field trip.
