My middle school students attend a PreK-12th grade school in a very small rural town. Our school has a student body population of approximately 250 students. A number of our students are residents at a children's home that serves disadvantaged children, as well as single-mother families. Our small school size fosters a very loving and close-knit community, but it also makes it so that our students do not always have as many resources or opportunities as their peers at larger schools. Help me give our 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade math students dry erase markers, plastic brad folders, batteries for calculators and highlighters for our middle school math classroom.

Middle school and high school math can be challenging, but our students are more focused and are more willing to attempt challenging math problems when they are also enjoying the lesson. One way I have found to make math more engaging is by allowing the students to complete their math practice on their desks.
We use plastic brad folders and highlighters to create a math folder that holds all of the notes we create throughout the year. This folder is used daily in my room as a resource. The batteries will keep our graphing calculators working throughout the school year! The bandaids and feminine pads will help meet frequent needs in the middle school and high school classroom.
