Help me give my students a modern, diversified classroom library to meet their interests and levels.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Pallas's classroom raised $277
This project is fully funded
My Students
Middle schoolers are the best! They are so full of excitement, wonder, and creative ideas. Our sixth graders have this infectious energy that, as I tell them, "gives me life" - and it truly is a joy to watch as they learn.
Our class has become a class full of readers.
Even in this virtual world, our scholars have been reading whole-class novels. We are reading different genres, about different social justice topics, and students are rising to every occasion. Now it's my job to keep this energy and love of reading up!
My Project
Independent reading is an important step in helping students develop their reading skills and reading identities. Reading can spark imagination and creativity, teach students how to analyze and think critically, and engage with the world around them. But in order to encourage authentic engagement, we need books that meet the diverse interests and levels of our students.
With these additions to our library, students will be able to choose and read books that truly interest them and encourage them to want to read!
We'll be able to add some graphic novels, memoirs and informational texts, superhero tales, and realistic fiction that mimics their own lives.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
