At a high needs school in Brooklyn, my students face an unimaginable range of challenges on a daily basis. One thing that is constant in their life is school. Each day, these students come to class and try their best, despite any obstacles they may face. It is hard to get students excited about reading when they are faced with dusty, well-loved, vintage titles. We need contemporary, high interest books that students can relate to.
