This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a very large and diverse high school. They all have different learning issues but they work hard to overcome and address them. I teach special education students in both inclusion and resource English classes.
All students want to succeed!
We work together to do our best to ensure everyone is successful. My students often just need a bit of extra assistance or a different strategy to be successful. It is my goal to make sure each one of them gets that help.
My Project
How would you feel if you were in high school and you still couldn't read well? Reading is undoubtedly one of the most important skills we need to survive in this world. My goal is to help these students to become proficient readers before they graduate high school.
The supplies for Ready, Set, Read!, card stock to make flash cards, dry erase cards to work on spelling, and other dry erase supplies, are necessary for each student to have their own materials which leads to the best outcomes.
Students who can take their supplies with them to work at home do significantly better than students who have to share materials with other students.
Please help me to help them by funding this project, Ready, Set, Read!. My request may be small but the results will be huge!
