My Students
Our school is a PreK-5th grade school in McMinnville, TN. We have about 500 students who visit the library weekly. Unfortunately, our school has a high poverty rate but that does not stop our students from wanting to learn. They love to read and we love to keep them reading. Some of their favorite books to read are Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dog Man.
My Project
The book baskets will enable me to organize the books on the shelves in a more efficient way that will in return allow students to find books easily. The way the books are currently organized, they are constantly falling over and causing the library to appear a little messy and being put back in different spots when being previewed. When they are put back in different spots other students cannot find them when they are searching for them.
If we were able to house the books in appropriate book baskets I feel that books would be put back in the correct baskets after being previewed and the library would look a lot neater.
I also feel that being able to generify the books in book baskets would help students who have hard time choosing books. Examples of generified categories would be Adventure, Family, Sports, Suspense, etc.
