Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These interest driven books will continue to enhance the love of reading that I strive to create. My classroom library has some of these interest driven books, but it is not enough. All of my students gravitate towards these graphic novels when given time to read independently or with a partner. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care. I know that if we get these books, the love of reading will deepen and I will see strides of growth in reading levels because the students will be reading books that they love!

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level while also being of interest to them!

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading which will not only help them as reader but help them to be successful and more confident in all subject areas. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with interest driven texts to choose from and to enhance our classroom library!
