My Students

My students are always excited to come to art class, and they never want to leave.

My students come from very difficult circumstances, but they feel safe when they're in my class.

We have amazing kids who are exceptionally hardworking and take nothing for granted. I want them to experience all the wonderful things that a bigger budget district could offer them.

My Project

Until now, my kids hadn't had art class in years. They're really proud of what they've accomplished so far, and are excited to learn about their new project, The Harlem Renaissance. This project will combine both art and social studies. I would like to continue Empowering Students Through Art by having a joint art and humanities show for the kids to exhibit their works for the community. My kids have tried so hard this year. I'd love to have a special display area to set up in the center of the room in order to showcase their projects.

We will be Empowering Students Through Art when we begin our new project, "The Harlem Renaissance - Painting and the Humanities" which just got funded recently.

Our first school art and humanities show will be taking place in the beginning of March. This room divider will make my kids' show a special one because it will give the appearance of a professional exhibition.
