My Students

Our elementary students grow and learn at a Pre K-5 rural elementary school. Being in a rural community, we would like to bring opportunities that they may not be exposed to otherwise. They are wonderful children who are eager to expand their experiences and minds. We are partners in our journey through the years they spend with us.

Being a part of their journey, I have learned from my many years of teaching that students need to be connected to what they are learning.

My Project

These coding mice will provide my kindergarten and first grade students hands and minds on experiences in their first foray into coding. By using the coding mice, I believe my students will strengthen their skills in problem solving, thinking critically, collaboration, and communication. These 21st century skills will help my students not only in coding, but will help them in all subjects.

"I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it," a quote attributed to a great painter Pablo Picasso; I want to provide a myriad of experience for my littles that make them feel this way.
