Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a very small community where everyone knows each other. My students are eager, young learners. They love to read, write, dive deep into science and understand math. They also love to learn using technology. They find learning fun and exciting.

Many of my students come from low-income households and single-parent households.

They aren't often given the experiences that they will need to be successful in an ever-changing world. They can only become successful when given the chance and equipped with the tools to help them prepare for the world of tomorrow.

The future of the world is in my classroom today and they need to be supported and helped in order to help them become successful and contributing members of their community tomorrow.

My Project

I am looking to provide flexible seating for my students to use when they are working in small groups such as when we are conducting literature circles or when we are working in small collaborative groups for projects. Students enjoy seating in various parts of the room and not just their seats and I would like a clean alternative to the floor.

I would like to have alternative supportive seating for my students so that they feel more comfortable while reading and working in class.

When students feel more comfortable in their learning environment, they tend to stay more focused and more productive.
