My students need 5 ball chairs for our classroom, for our students who have trouble focusing because their energy level keeps them moving too much to sit still in class

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Did you know that the balance ball you use to exercise could be the most important classroom tool that some of my first graders will ever use? If I can get them "on the ball", their focus will improve by leaps and bounds!
The first graders in my Spanish Magnet class are wiggly, energetic movers and shakers.
They are motivated and curious students in a FLES (Foreign Language Elementary School) program. A diverse group culturally, socioeconomically, and academically, they form a fantastic classroom community full of eager, active, and enthusiastic learners.
My Project
Who knew that exercise balls could help first graders focus? When a child sits on a ball chair, he is constantly moving his body to maintain balance and can therefore channel his natural need for movement in a positive way. He can then focus on his work, helping him reach his full potential as a learner. Children who use a ball chair in a classroom setting feel less fidgety and are able to concentrate better. Let's be realistic, sitting still is not easy! If we can add these useful tools to our classroom, my energetic learners will get the chance to show their true potential and really shine.
My very active students will flourish once they are able to direct their kinesthetic energy in a positive way.
I look forward to helping them realize what great learners they can be once they are able to focus. We will then have everyone in class on the ball!
