Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in the Bronx in an area where most families are impoverished. My students are resilient learners. Against all odds they are in school everyday. They work hard and are excited and eager to learn new things and skills everyday. We work together to create a safe and nurturing learning environment that my students are happy to come to each day. I could not have asked for a better group. They make me so proud to be their teacher.

My Project

This time of year, I have run out of basic school supplies and funds. I need help to keep my students engaged in activites, motivated to suceedd, and free from germs. With your help, you will provide my students pencils to keep working, tissues and handsanitzer to stop the spread of cooties, and some candy to stay motivated.

You may be asking yourself, “Why is candy such an important part of learning?” My impoverished students are food motivated.

We have made incredible strides working for a small piece of candy. These are jusy a few basic tools needed to help them be successful.
