My Project
These Dorrie the Witch books by Patricia Coombs were part of my childhood. I loved reading them and looking at the pictures year after year. It makes me happy just looking at the book covers.
I want to bring the love and joy of reading to my students, and what better way to do so than to share with them the books I read as a child.
I will use these books in so many ways from comprehension skills to art activities. We will use the books to identify and study different parts of speech, sentence structure, and use the text as a basis for writing assignments.
My goal is that if I can get them excited about reading, then the learning will follow.
