We are an inner-city school with a high poverty rate and an ethnically diverse population. My students are creative and spend their days not only attending core classes like Math, Science and English, but a variety of art classes like Drama, Martial Arts, Guitar and Photography.
HFAA prepares students for college in an academically challenging, arts-integrated environment.
Not only are my students involved in extra-curricular activities, they are dedicated to their grades. Many stay at school until five or six pm, either in tutoring or attending a club meeting. My students are well rounded and participate in activities like volleyball, ballroom dance, basketball, cheerleading and a variety of clubs from Student Council to National Honor Society and everything in between.
This will be the last tournament of the competitive year for the Oklahoma Karate Association, and the last event my students can gain points at.
They have been competing hard all year in this league and this event will help determine if they end the competitive year as State Champions!
This will cover their entry fees to this event and help them finish the year the way they started it, strong.
My team meet to train over the summer at 7am, which is earlier then we arrive at school, to make sure they are in the best shape possible and prepared to win.
