This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Distance learning has been a challenge for our students, parents, and teachers as well. The challenges we all face vary in nature, but currently, it is undoubtedly an economic challenge for us all. Our school is a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast, lunch and supper.
My students are young scholars ready to tackle the 2020-2021 school year with excitement and perseverance, despite the obstacles they are facing.
My kids log into my Zoom class every day eager to learn. Before starting our instructional day, we take about 10-20 minutes to discuss what is going on in their life, around their neighborhood, our state and/or country.
My Project
The oil diffusers I am asking for are not just for my students, but for all our students when they go to the Computer Lab and Library. I also want one for the Main Office so that our office staff can also have a relaxing environment in which to work. The last 13 months have been very stressful for everyone due to Covid 19. I want to make sure that I can ease the anxiety of returning to school. I want my students to have a calming and relaxing environment in which to learn. One way to help students and office personnel is to have a oil diffusers in those rooms.
Essential oils will play an important role in our students' learning by providing a healthy learning environment.
Each of the oil diffusers will be placed in their perspective room. If students need some calmness or to relax, we can use some lavender oil. If kids are worried or scared, we can use the lemon oils. To uplift their mood we can use spearmint. There are many oils that can be used for different behaviors and feelings. I can help reduce undesirable behaviors that are hindering student learning and boost their mental focus. They want to be calm and focus, but sometimes they need help because not all of them have coping mechanisms. These materials are essential to their learning. They want to do good and I want to help them.
More than half of students from low‑income households
