This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try! -Dr. Seuss
I teach an amazing group of 3rd graders at a high poverty inner city public school in Indianapolis.
All of our students are on the free breakfast and lunch program. Many of our students' parents work odd hours and they barely get to spend time with their children. I have some students being raised by a single parent or a grandparent. No matter what my students are going through at home, they always try their personal best in the classroom. My students know how high my expectations are for each one of them!
My Project
I am requesting a one year subscription to Brain Pop Jr. My students absolutely love math and they love technology. Brain Pop Jr. allows students to watch short video clips to learn about several different subjects. I really like using Brain Pop Jr. for math because it keeps the students engaged on learning and sometimes helps students catch on when they are stuck on a new concept. My students also find it very entertaining. Just hearing them giggle during the short clips makes me smile.
With your help, kindness, and generosity, all of my students will be able to grasp new concepts in all subjects, especially math, and continue to grow.
All of this will be done while having a blast watching Moby learn on Brain Pop Jr.
