This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the sense of pride and accomplishment you had when you saw your work displayed on a bulletin board? My students deserve to experience the same sense of pride and success!
My students are hard working 4th & 5th graders with a knack to learn new things.
They attend a 100% free and reduced lunch school, in a poverty stricken and high crime neighborhood. We look for ways in school to build self-esteem among students, as well as, help them to be proud of their work.
My Project
My students need a large cork bulletin board to display their work. Bulletin boards in the classroom are paramount to displaying student work, publicly using data to show student learning outcomes and growth, and to inform instruction. My students are eager and enthusiastic about displaying their work in the environment of the classroom. Unfortunately, they don't have bulletin boards in the classroom and the walls are too hard to push thumb tacks in. Often the work is never posted on the wall and my students have many missed opportunities. My parents love to come into the classroom and look at their children's work.
My project is so important because it gives students the opportunity to display their work in a positive way.
The bulletin boards can be used and managed by my students. This will create job opportunities in the classroom.
