I am a 4 th/5th grade Special Education Teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district. Most parents are struggling to make ends meet. We have almost 100% free lunch. The beginning of the school year always comes as a happy and sad part. Happy to see new kids, new smiles and saddened when they have so little. This year is going to be one of my most challenging years. With even more budget cuts, our class is facing a lot of problems. We need all the help we can get.
